I’m super excited to show all of you the charms and spell book I made for a charm swap over at Life on the Scrapbeach!  Right from the start I knew I wanted to do a spell book as the display for my charms and I wanted the spell book to look really old.  It was Tim Holtz distressing ink and a paper lunch bag to the rescue!

Today I would like to share with you a card I made for CardzTV Challenge #111.  In this challenge we had to make a summer themed card using our Cricut.  I really wanted to do a card with dimensional flip flops on it but I don’t own the Life is a Beach cartridge.  So I searched the internet and found a free SVG from Shery K Design.  I love this cut and I was able to transform the flip flops into a cut with some dimension to it.  To meet the requirement of using my Cricut to create the card, I used the Flower Shoppe cartridge for the flowers and the Elegant Edges for the scalloped square.  I kept the colors bright and cheery. The card wouldn’t have been complete if I didn’t include a button on the card for Mary!  I’ve included a video of how to make this card, including the flip flops with flowers.

I’m also entering this card in the following challenges:

Thought I would do one last tag holder for Christmas.  This one is done with the Penguin from Create a Critter with a Peachy Keen face stamp.  I am entering this one in Cardz TV Challenge #98.  Enjoy!

Here are the supplies.

Here is the first tag holder I made last week.

My Tim Holtz distresser ink collection is growing so I thought it was time that I organized it. I like to use the finger dobbers with my distressers and I recently saw that there was a plastic tray organizer available on the market for them.  I couldn’t find the organizer at my M’s or J’s so I decided to find something close and make it work.  I found this plastic bead container at J’s for less than $5 and the dobbers fit in it!  Yay!  I purchase the dobbers from my J’s too (I need to get more..lol).  I cut a piece of cardstock to fit the lid and inked some samples on it so I know which dobber belongs to which distresser ink pad.  I also labeled all my ink pads with the name on one side and a sample on the other side.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a happy scrappy holiday!

My daughter came to me and asked me to make a card that she could send to a soldier overseas.  Her Jr. High English class has a voluntary project to send cards to soldier and she wanted to participate.  So, I let her pick the Cricut cut and then I designed the card with her.

I really wanted to give some new inking techniques a try, so I created this card using an embossing and inking technique to create my own paper.

  1. Using a Studio G snowflake stamp, I randomly stamped a white piece of cardstock using Versa Mark
  2. I then used fine white embossing power and a heat gun to set it
  3. Next, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink (Broken China) with a Tim Holtz blender and inked the entire page, making darker and lighter areas.  The ink will not adhere to the embossed snowflakes so they stay white.
  4. Finally, I sprayed the paper with Tattered Angels Glimer Mist (Dazzling Diamonds) to give it a frosty look.

I think it turned out awesome.  I am entering it in the following challenges.  Wish me luck!

  • Peachy Keen - Create a card or LO using embossing & PK stamps if you have them
  • Paper Cutz - Create a project with a snowman or snowflake on it with the colors of your choice
  • Paper Play Time – Create a project with a snowman or snowmen
